Can I tell you how excited I am about the upcoming TMR Homeopathy for Family Health eConference? Since my son’s regression into autism (thirteen years ago, at age three), connecting the dots to the causes, and bucking the system, homeopathy has become the main system of medicine for our family. I even considered becoming a homeopath myself at one point. It wasn’t always this way.
I grew up using “modern medicine,” going to the doctor that my insurance paid for, giving the doctor a list of symptoms, getting a prescription for some pharmaceutical drug, and religiously taking it, or giving it to my kids. After I was burned and wised up, I began seeing two integrated medicine specialists to help my son with autism. I was introduced to this amazing, ancient medical system called homeopathy. Both doctors were former MDs, who switched to homeopathy and Chinese medicine after seeing allopathic medicine fail and healing themselves of major illnesses using these modalities.
Prior to seeing these two wonderful healers, every time either of my sons would get an ear infection or a cold of some sort, they were put on antibiotics and other toxic drugs by their pediatrician. My son with autism had been on the antibiotics merry-go-round for years, which destroyed his gut, caused systemic fungal infections, and possibly created other issues that are just coming to light. After discovering homeopathy, he got off the merry-go-round, and neither of them have taken an antibiotic since. Yes, it’s true. Ten years, and no antibiotics (even for strep and influenza). Imagine that. There are other ways.
Once our new doctors started prescribing these unheard of homeopathic remedies instead of drugs, I knew I had to learn more. Being a voracious reader, I bought numerous books on homeopathy. My favorites were: Impossible Cure: The Promise of Homeopathy, by Amy Lansky, PhD. She recovered her son from autism using homeopathy. I also loved Homeopathic Self-Care, by Robert Ullman, ND and Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman, ND, as well as The Complete Homeopathy Handbook, by Miranda Castro.
Homeopathy is based on the Law of Similars, “let like be cured by like.” Tiny doses of substances that in larger doses can produce symptoms, can be used to alleviate those symptoms. For example, homeopathic Ipecac is used to alleviate vomiting, while the actual substance produces vomiting. Homeopathic remedies are derived from natural substances: plants, animals and minerals. In their homeopathic formulation, the remedies contain the energetic signature of the original substance. They are given in very small, specifically prepared doses, made to stimulate the body’s innate ability to heal itself. The remedies originate from a “mother tincture” of a natural substance, and are then diluted and succussed (vigorously shaken). The more a remedy is diluted, the stronger it becomes. There are many different potencies, reflecting the number of times it has been diluted and succussed. For example, Sulfur 6X has been diluted and succussed six times. High potency remedies should not be used by the home prescriber. Homeopathic remedies come in multiple forms, usually soft tablets, hard tablets, or in an alcohol or water base. There are even lotions and creams.
The FDA classifies homeopathic medicines as pharmaceutical drug products. It may seem hard to believe, but at the turn of the 20th century, between 15 and 20 percent of all medical doctors were homeopaths. There were more than 20 homeopathic medical schools in the United States. Homeopathy was one of three accredited and accepted branches of medicine in this country, and the U.S. was considered the world’s leader in homeopathy at the time. It is a proven medical system with hundreds of double-blind, placebo-controlled studies conducted over the past few decades, mainly in Europe and India. History will teach you what happened next, and how pharmaceutical companies took over the nation’s health care business.
In addition to reading books, I took an online introduction to homeopathy class, and bought my own homeopathic self-care medicine kit (which went along with the Ullman’s book). Some of the acute illnesses that I was able to treat my family for using my kit included fevers, coughs, colds, flu, bee stings, sore throat, bruises, sinusitis, allergies, headaches, earaches, nausea, vomiting, gas, skin rashes, insomnia, stomach aches, diarrhea, constipation, motion sickness, and heartburn. There are more than one remedy that work for each ailment. Remedy choice is based on key symptoms, both mental and physical, and what makes the symptoms worse or better.
Next, I discovered multiple remedies. My favorites are made by King Bio. They are water-based formulas which include multiple remedies and multiple potencies. Especially for a child who has limited verbal ability and can’t tell you all of their symptoms, the multiple remedies are terrific, and they don’t contain alcohol, like some other liquid remedies do. With single remedies, there is often some trial and error to see which one does the trick. It’s like finding the right key to fit the lock. If the key doesn’t fit, no harm done; if it’s the right key, the door opens. With multiple remedies, all the potential keys are in the remedy. I have personally used them for issues such as grief, adrenal fatigue, PMS, depression, anxiety, egg allergy, muscle pain, and even hangovers. You can purchase them online (www.kingbio.com), and they are also sold at retail health food and drug stores, like The Vitamin Shoppe and Whole Foods Market. They have no taste, are sprayed under the tongue, and are easy for kids with sensory issues to tolerate.
Don’t get me wrong; I’m not a doctor, so I still had a medical professional who prescribed homeopathic remedies for the big issues. But I saved a ton of money in traditional doctor’s visits and medicine by self-treating with homeopathy for certain things. Added bonus, I stopped poisoning my kids with pharmaceutical drugs. There are no toxic substances or side effects with homeopathic remedies. They are energy medicine. There can be reactions, regressions, and provings in homeopathy, but it is part of the healing process. I learned what I could handle at home with my homeopathic remedies, and what I needed help with. For more severe illnesses, I took my kids in, and they were tested by an EAV machine to determine which specific virus or bacteria was causing the illness, and then prescribed a specific remedy for that illness, often accompanied by an herbal remedy.
Through our homeopathic professionals, we were able to test for and treat miasms (diseases in the personal or family history that become blocks to health). Examples of diseases that cause miasms in their descendants are syphilis, gonorrhea, and tuberculosis. For example, if my ancestor had tuberculosis (my great grandfather did), my generation would be predisposed to asthma from cats (which some of my siblings and I have), and my children would be prone to ear infections (too many to count). Who knew? Vaccines are a newer miasm that will affect generations to come.
My son with regressive autism was also tested for and treated with homeopathic detoxosodes for fungus and yeast, heavy metals, viruses, bacteria, parasites, and nematodes, along with organ support for detox. Both of the doctors that we saw early on are no longer part of our journey. One retired, and the other passed on. However, we are currently working with one of the practitioners featured in the TMR eConference, Mary Coyle, D.I., Hom. She specializes in Homotoxicology, basically homeopathic detox. Yeah! Love her!
We are constantly being bombarded with toxins and pathogens in our food, water, air, and medicines. If a person is unable to detox properly (like children with regressive autism), toxins build up, and can be reabsorbed if the pathways of elimination are not supported. Mary is personally vested in this work, as she helped her own son recover. She is passionate about helping our kids get better and understands their sensitivity.
Please join Mary Coyle and six other phenomenal homeopathic practitioners who are currently working with Thinking Moms everywhere and will be sharing their wisdom in the first TMR Homeopathy for Family Health e-Conference on November 19th. Even if you are unable to watch it that day, by signing up, you will be able to access the conference for a full year! Win! Come see what you’re missing out on! Oracle (Laura Hirsch) – has a B.A. in Speech Communications and is the author of three books. She is also a contributing author/editor/publisher of the Team TMR books Evolution of a Revolution: From Hope to Healing and Thinking in the Kitchen. Her first independent book was an autobiography about her experience of being a young widow, which led to her investigation of mediumship as a therapeutic avenue for grief. She remarried and had two sons, the older one diagnosed at age three with regressive autism. Her love and devotion to her son led her back to mediumship for answers from her loved ones in spirit and others on how to heal her son. Working with a psychic medium and his wife, a spirit artist, they extended an open invitation to the spirit world to help solve the autism puzzle. Her third book, The Other Side of Autism: Famous Spirits Unveil Regressive Autism’s Causes and Remedies is the culmination of their sessions. She is also a non-GMO advocate and is featured in the documentary Genetic Roulette in the autism segment. Her website is www.theothersideofautism.com.
My four year old daughter has had a recurring cough for the last 2years and for the last 6 months her pediatrician had put her in antibiotics every month then inhalers and has tested her for everything under the sun. I decided to take my daughter to a chiropractor who specializes in homeopathic and nutrition. She recommended sever whole food supplements and detoxosode anti fungal and yeast and the detoxosode bacteria. Are these safe for kids? Conventional medicine is not working for my daughter and I am desperate to get her well.
Those are far safer for your child than repeated rounds of antibiotics.
We missed the conference and feel terrible that we found out about it all too late 🙁 Is there any way that families that are just starting out with homeopathy can still gain access to the conference “after-the-fact”? I would pay extra for it, within reason of course. Thank you for your time.
Indeed, Melissa! You won’t have to pay extra. It will be available on Tuesday of this week, we think. We’ll post a link on our Facebook page. You’ll have access to it for a full year. It’s terrific! Enjoy!
Thank you for the info! I will definitely check the FB page this Tues. for the link 🙂
I’m trying to register for the e-conference but when I click on PayPal, it keeps telling me to click on terms of service ( which I did ). How else can I register?
Someone will get in touch with you shortly by email, Maria.
